LATEST NEWS: Signature of Collaboration Agreement between EC-JRC and NORMAN
On 10 June in Stresa, Italy, NORMAN signed an important collaboration agreement with the European Commission JRC, which marks an important milestone in the life of the NORMAN network.
This collaboration agreement will allow more effective and close collaboration with JRC and will strengthen even further the role of NORMAN in the organisation of EU-wide activities in the field of emerging pollutants.

The started its activities in September 2005 with the financial support of the European Commission ( - 6th Framework Programme – Priority 6.3 - Contract N° 018486) and it is now established as a , of , research centres and related organisations for the monitoring and biomonitoring of .
Our is to:
- enhance the exchange of information and collection of data on emerging environmental substances;
- encourage the validation and harmonisation of common measurement methods and monitoring tools so that the demands of risk assessors can be better met;
- ensure that knowledge on emerging pollutants is maintained and developed by stimulating coordinated, interdisciplinary projects on collaborative, problem-oriented research and knowledge transfer to address identified needs.
NORMAN operates via the organisation of a number of activities, including expert group meetings, workshops, databases and methods validation exercises.
