Workshop on Micropollutants, Metabolites and Mixtures in Drinking Water and its Sources

Workshop on Micropollutants, Metabolites and Mixtures (3Ms) in Drinking Water and its Sources
Nieuwegein (NL), 18-19 June 2012

This two-day workshop was organised jointly by IWW Water Centre and KWR Watercycle Research Institute, under the umbrella of the Aqua Research Coalition (ARC) and the Norman Network, to address the question of micropollutants, metabolites and mixtures in drinking water and its sources.

Among the participants were 20 representatives of the Dutch drinking water companies and 30 participants of other international organisations amounting to a total of 9 different nationalities.

The main objectives of the workshop were:

  • to prepare the ground for concrete recommendations for prioritisation of the vast amount of chemicals (known and unknowns) that can be relevant for drinking water suppliers
  • to facilitate the identification of best practice (what works) in toxicity assessment and regulatory approaches.
  • to support consensus building, by identifying potentials and needs for harmonisation.

The oral presentations can be downloaded as pdf files (see below).
